This morning was one of surprises. The first surprise: it was just before 8 and the baby was still asleep. She slept through the night. In her crib.
Miracles do happen.
The second surprise: outside my bathroom window I saw the most beautiful fog covering the world around me like a blanket.
I crept downstairs, grabbed the Nikon that my in-laws are loaning me, put my boots on and went outside to try to capture it.
I am completely in awe of frost. It looks so delicate with each steam so intricately designed.
It attaches itself onto every inch of tree branch and every part of exposed wood.
The fog and frost mixed together made it seem as though time where standing still.
The frost gives the world a monochromatic look, while simultaneously making the colors pop.
It’s days like these that give me such an appreciation for the beauty that is winter.
